Woodlands Red Devon Cattle

These are some of the bulls that have been used in the herd  over the years since 1995.

Rotokawa 46 was a son of Rotokawa 688 out of a daughter of Rotokawa 492,another son of the influential cow Rotokawa 167.

Rotokawa 464 (Rotokawa 244/86 x Rotokawa 167) was the bull purchased at the Wairata Dispersal Sale. Out of Rotokawa 167,dam of several very good bulls. His  pedigree is saturated with the old English bull Potheridge Masterpiece.

Rotokawa 708 was a Polled half brother to Rotokawa 464 out of Rotokawa 167 and by Rotokawa 425.He is on the left, Rotokawa 464 on the right.

Rotokawa 699(Rotokawa 425 x Rotokawa 532 by R 307) was a Paternal half brother to Rotokawa 708 and was a very successful sire of strong sound daughters.

Woodlands Crowcombe was a son of Rotokawa 699 and out of the cow Woodlands Helen 1st by Thorndale Baron 4TH the first of a line of exceptional daughters of Wairata 9/92 seen on the history page  Another good sire of daughters.

Woodlands Merland  was by Rotokawa 779 and out of a heifer we purchased, Rotokawa 726. Merland is the Sire of a few cows in the herd.

Tapuwae 822 (Thelmara Seaton Park Julius x Tapuwae Carnation 1st). A polled bull purchased from Arthur Beasley, who left smaller type daughters with plenty of milk.

Hau Hiwi 54 (Rotokawa 861(Rotokawa 688) x Woodlands Joy 7th(Rotokawa 464). This bull was purchased from Greg and Louise Mc Connel and is out of a cow they purchased from Woodlands.His first daughters are now 3 years old.
